MACHAME ROUTE 6-7 DAYS
Machame route is the foremost popular route and features an exceptionally high victory rate of making it to the top. It offers excellent and common features of landscape. It starts with a pleasant day of strolling through the rainforest and includes a decent steady altitude increment each day.
MACHAME ROUTE DESCRIPTION
Drive from Moshi to Machame Gate. Here you’ll meet your trekking group, your guide, porters and cooker. The first day trekking begins at Machame Gate.The primary segment of the route climbs steadily and passes through wonderful, green thick rainforest.
Day two takes approximately 4-6 hours and covers a distance of 5.4km / 3.4miles. The journey is moderately soak as you enter the low alpine zone which is characterized by moorlands and grasslands. Shira Camp 2 sits on a level which gives you with the primary views of Kibo within the North-West and Mount Meru within the East.
Day three, walking now on high moorland, the landscape changes the entire character of the trek. We traverse the southwest side of Kilimanjaro, passing underneath the Lava Tower and the final section of the Western Breach and finally reach camp.
Passing underneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers, we head towards the Karanga valley. From here we have a steep climb up from Karanga valley to our night’s camp at Karanga camp, set at 3963m.
Day five, We descent from Karanga Camp to Great Barranco to the Barafu Camp. The distance to be covered approximated to 8 km (5 mi), that take 8 – 9 hrs, 650m (2130 ft) ascent, Alt 4673m (15,331 ft). Dinner / Overnight Barafu camp
It is the Summit Day, the distance to be covered is 5 Km (3 mi), 6 – 7 hrs, 1296m (4250 ft) ascent, Alt 5895m (19,341 ft). We begin off at around midnight, and walk steeply upwards to the summit ice sheets.We’ll be climbing scree for 4 to 5 hours but pick up extraordinary height over a short distance. The views are marvelous. We should be on the crater rim at Stella Point (5739m) as the primary rays of the sun hit us.
Another hour’s strolling takes us to the summit, Uhuru Peak (5895m). After that we will begin our descending by returning to Stella Point and after that descending on scree slant and track back to Barafu Camp for breakfast, before at last heading down to Mweka Camp for a long well-earned rest.
Day 7 is the ultimate day of trekking on the Machame Route. A delicate journey takes us down through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where we complete park customs and receive certificates, which you’ll hang up with pride! We are at that point met by our vehicles and return to the hotel in Moshi, where you’ll be able treat yourself to a welcome shower at that point celebrate with cold drinks.
