Umbwe route is a short, steep and direct route which based within the south. It is said to be the foremost beautiful and troublesome one offered on Kilimanjaro. The Fundamental reason that Umbwe route considered to be exceptionally difficult is its steepness within the first two days with amazingly sloppy.Inspite the fact that the traffic on this route is low, the chances of victory are moreover low. This route only suggested for experienced and well-trained climbers

UMBWE ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Transfer to Machame gate for park formalities, and proceed to Umbwe gate, begin the climb through the magnificent forest. Overnight at Umbwe Cave (2900m / 5-7 hours trek)

Steep climb through the last forest to join the ridge (20 minutes strenuous trek) and a couple of hours later the start of the moorland. Overnight at Barranco Camp (3940m / 4-5 hours trek)

Trek around the Breach wall, follow an up and down route along the Southern Circuit through the Karanga Valley. For those feeling strong we will go for a mid-afternoon acclimatization trek up to around 4200m before descending back to camp for the night. Overnight at Barranco Camp

Vegetation soon ends and outward views become ones of distant forest, moorland and oceans of clouds, with a foreground of bleak rocky screes, all seen through gaps in the swirling mists
(4850m / 3-4 hours Trek) Overnight at Arrow Glacier Camp.

Soon after midnight, steep and heavy scree, ascend via crater to Uhuru Peak (5895m) This mark the highest point in the continent. Descend via Barafu to Mweka Camp (3100m) / 5-7 hours trek to the Summit + 6-7 hours trek to Mweka Camp). Overnight at Mweka Camp

Descend through the rain forest to the gate where you will be picked up and transferred back to the hotel. (trek 2-3 hours to gate)
